coolant leaking problem, under thermostat housing

I thought it was just thermostat housing gasket, when i take out the thermostat, i saw it drip down on this area. it not the thermostat housing gasket, it kinda back their a little.

Check the housing and the intake with a straight edge after you scrape off all the old gasket residue.

well it stop leak I think, I put the new thermostat housing gasket on, and fill it with water and it leak, I take out and put some black rtv ( black rtv is only 1 i have atm, ITS OK ? ) put some black rtv both side of gasket and now no more leak.

Youll be fine with black RTV. If its working now just leave it alone.

I did a google search "black rtv+coolant" and didnt see anything bad about it.

hehe ty so much for google it, btw one last question, the owner did add bunch of water when he have that leak ( bought the car yesterday ). and I did all alot water also ( i only add distule water , not water from garden hose ), I was thinking drain it using cockpit on bottem radiator and add 50/50 til it full, what you guy think ? or leave it alone since it working fine, no leak and no over heat.
