I'm gonna order a Cobra Bumper soon and some other various body parts and start saving up for some paint... then I'll move to the inside, but of course that's gonna be a year from now. lmao

Yea. That front bumper has had it and I don't really like the looks of it anyway. I'm hoping I can order a new one tonight, trying to decide where to get it from. The previous owner couldnt paint worth a crap. His job on the stripes and bumper prove that. The foglights are covered in overspray. I'm pretty sure he didn't mask them, just tryed not to hit them. Idiot. :wall:

Thanks for all the compliments.

It was a backyard rattle can job... I coulda done better and I suck at rattle cans.
I'm about to order my bumper, hopefully it'll be in by the time I get back from FL. Just got back from a local body guy and gave me a quote of $3500 to do some bodywork and paint my car... I gotta find something cheaper. The car cost $4000, and I can't justify spending almost that much just for paint... gah, I was so hoping for at least below $3k...

The whole car was rattle-can sprayed? Or just the front bumper and the stripes?

You can definitely get a cheaper quote than 3500, shop around.

The bumper, hood and stripes were all spray painted. There's also some spots where on the door they they touched up with the can too. Idiots got overspray on my passenger window. :nonono:

I'm defiently going to shop around. I'm not sure if I can get that much better. If I can get less than $3k, I'll be a little bit happier. The hoods cracking and I need door hinges too so that makes the price a little higher... But yea, $3500 is way too much for me. I'm just 16 and work for my mom, so I'm not exaclty made of money.

I'm probably not gonna go back with stripes, just because it costs more. I'm still not sure though. I might save up for a good while and do exactly what I want, orange with a flat black spot on the hood and aroudn the tag area and gloss black pinstriping around the flat black. It looks good in my head... but that's never gonna happen :crazy2:

Orange would look awesome, I love competition orange stangs...I say save up for the orange paint job, and do the black accents later down the road. I think the fresh paint job will keep you happy for quite a while :thumb:

Yea, but I'm OCD about my cars and would have to spray my inner fenders and in the doors and all that, and thats more money. If I'm gonna have to spend as much as the car either way I go, then I'll def. save up longer to get the orange, but if I can find white cheap enough, its gonna stay it. If only I was rich...

i'd check around local forums and see if anyone has used maaco near you. The one near me has done a very good job the two times i took my old car in to get painted, and i will go to them again late this summer. Its mostly the bodywork (which i did myself) and taking things off that you don't want oversprayed.
