im in need of 3in pipe work for my exhaust set up. i need the flow pipe i think is what its called, the pipe in between the x pipe and the muffler, and then the rest of the pipework from the muffler back. i can always rig something up if i need to but getting 3in pipe from the start would just be easier lol. thanks in advance!

well iv got 3in mufflers on the way lol. i found a flow tube on summit i think it should work, still nothing on the after muffler pipe. all my piping after the x pipe is pretty rusted anyways so i should replace it. i suppose i could always get the 2.5 to 3 adapters if i need to

Find an exhaust shop around you that does custom work. Make sure they mandrel bend and not pinch bend and get a quote from them. Just look around, I did and found a shop near me that is effing awesome. They do a TON of work for Mustang guys for starters and most ppl I talk to who are into performance vehicles around here, up at Englishtown, down in Atco and other guys from NJ on these forums/corral/others know who Mufflex is.

why 3"? you really don't need it with the stuff you have. its not even worth it until you start approaching the 500-600rwhp level.

lol i realize i dont have alot done to it at the moment, but when i get the funds my goal is about 600hp. forced induction of some sort (sick twin turbo kit on lethalperformance but i dont know if i want to go the turbo route), possible cobra motor transplant, upgraded drivetrain, whole 9 yards. so i can buy my exhaust now and look for what i need to install it now, doesnt mean i have to install it now lol....

but thanks sleepn, yeah that looks a lot like what im looking for! the welded on mounts are facing the wrong direction but if the overall length and such is the same that would be perfect. ill look more into the exact specs and go from there

I just realized you have a new edge so Im not sure if those would work. Fox tailpipes fit 94-98 but Im not sure about 99-04

Fox tailpipes hit the rear bumper on new edge cars, they point upwards just a tad.

well looking at the pix that makes sense that theyre a little too high. unfortunately i dont think i have access to a pipe bending machine so i dont know if i can rework that to fit. any idea tho if the length is about the same? if theyre within a few inches too long or short not big deal i can cut them down or add extra pipe to make up for the difference

i just read on a forum that the only major difference between the 2 cat backs is the hanger locations. that is hardly a problem for me if thats true. can anyone attest to this? auto, you say they hit but how bad do they hit? i mean would a little wiggling or slight drop of the x pipe let them clear properly? theres also the cutouts in the bumper that add an extra 2 inches or so. if it doesnt workout ill just dump it, but i want it to look almost as good as it sounds lol

Fox body tailpipes hit like this on my bumper
IMAG0066.jpg

They slope up, the ride pretty damn close to my bumper, 3" mandrel bends arent going to be cheap. You could get a 3" GT foxbody catback, cut the tips off and put whatever tips you want on. Those goes straight back until the bumper where they turn down because of the body kit the fox GT's have
