My Mustang needs to go on a diet!

I'd like to get under 3000lbs but keep it a daily driver and not make any major sacrifices.

What I came up with so far:

- summit poly seats. 40ish lbs saving.
- spoiler delete. 9ish lbs.
- two factory headunits replaced with one aftermarket headunit. 5ish lbs.
- spare tire, tools, and spare cover (Ive never had a flat in my 8yrs of driving). 40ish lbs
- under hood heat cover. 7ish lbs (?)
- rear seat delete with belts. 40ish lbs.

So I'm up to 140ish lbs.
I need another 100 or so. What are some other things to do on a daily driver? Carbon fiber hood.. how much weight would it save? Control arms?

Any other ideas?

hmm ok..

I don't like carrying around things that serve no purpose... like the back seat. so why not get rid of them!

you can chp 7lbs out of the rear deck lid metal, front and rear bumper supports, you can do a k member swap, tubular a arms, and an aluminum block swap and be well over 150lbs right there.

not sure I would recomend taking metal out of the rear decklid. That area between the struts is somewhat structural to prevent flexing.

you could click on the links at the bottom for more ideas though.

The decklid will flex midly but when you open with lift strust and close as long as you dont fling it open or closed, it will be fine. I did it with mine.

What do they use for an inner support?
