So I got 3.73s installed in my 94 Mustang GT recently (Upgraded from 2.73s), and now the speedometer is 20 miles per hour off. I've gone over the instructions on how to use the thing, and they are just terrible instructions. I've taken my center console apart and found all those wires, and I've found the VSS connector under the car, but after that they lose me with things like "Identify the ground wire." and other really vague directions with no pictures or anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

i also thought the instructions were a little confusing. it took me a couple attempts to get mine to work.
i lifted the rear axle with jack stands and tested as i went along.

i'll climb under my car tomorrow and look. i'll post up what wires go where.

I dont know if you ever changed your speedo yet with the speed cal, but with the 5.0's all you have to do is buy a $20 gear from ford or there are a few other internet sites that have them and pop out your transmission speed sensor located on the driverside of the transmission near your H pipe, pop off the clip insert new gear and there you go fixed speedo 3.73's need a 22 or 23 tooth gear I believe cant remember but their color coded and mine is white with 3.73's thers also calculators on the net to find out.

Nope, still haven't put the speedcal in. I've been more concerned with the gear whine, and I'm having the guy that installed them try again on Monday. I put around 400-500 miles on the car with the whine (I had to..), and I hope I didn't mess anything up too badly. The gears whine so bad when I take my foot off the gas, in fact, in fourth gear the whine will drown out the radio. Thankfully the guy that installed them said it wouldn't cost me anything if it's something he did. Heh. Definitely wasn't anything I did... they whined ever since I left the parking lot.

As for the speedcal.. yeah I'll try again when I have more time. It still seems like it will be a PITA to install.

I won't be driving it anymore until the gears are fixed. Until then I'll be driving my brothers WS6 Trans-am :dancing6:
