degreeing cams???

I am putting on some 102500 do I need to do any degreeing or anything and what exactly is that anywase

degreeing your cams is where you set the motor to 0TDC by the use of a piston stop and apply a degree wheel to the crank, then using a micrometer find the centerline of the cam and adjust where the cam rests at whatever the cam card tells you it supposed to be set at.

The question should NEVER be "Do I need to" There is NO reason NOT TO!!!! By using the factory key ways your not giving yourself teh best possible chance to make the most power available.

timing is easy. i'm not really sure why people are scared of it, get the pistons below the deck and youve got all the room in the world line up the dots and go

Its not easy but will need to be checked and double checked and then do some math. Get a good dial indicator, solid lash adjuster. oh and get a good degree wheel and pointer, make sure you get a big enough wheel too, small ones are a pain, had a friend tell me that on a 4v build

Do I need adjustable cam Gears to do this??? And im glad I asked because I have never heard of degreeing cams before lol

You can get adjsutable cam gears or you can clearance the keyways by hand.
