Detailing Products

Everyone seems to believe the popular misconception that you need to go out and spend alot of money on special detailing products for you to have yourself a good looking car... Well I'm here to say its total bullshit...

Granted, many products are better then others... But to say that you need a 50 dollar bottle of wax to have good results is lame... Detailing is an acquired skill. It take practice. With practice comes technique...

So to prove to everyone that you don't need to run out and buy expensive waxes and polishes, here's a picture to prove otherwise...

On this vehicle I used an orbital buffer, however, I used meguires paint cleaner and polish, turtle wax rubbing compound, and natty's blue paste... Everything but the blue paste was bought from autozone... This was one of my first details, I didn't have alot of money, I couldn't afford better products. So I took what little money I had, and bought a product that I didn't have to order online...

Go out, buy whatever your budget allows, read tips online... You don't need the stuff people say you need. Detailing websites and conventions tell you that product A is better then B and you can't detail with out C... Well that is simply advertising... You can have a damn good looking car with products readily available from walmart...

Anyone looking for tips, just ask I'll help as best I can...

some products do work better I've found. and last longer than the cheaper stuff that's for sure.
but I do agree that you don't have to buy the expensive stuff.
and the majority of a detail is your technique and the work you put into it.

meguiars makes some great products that you can get in most stores

i also love poorboys stuff. if you can pickup natty red since you have a dark colored truck. black hole glaze, professional polish and all the ssr(s) are some favorites of mine as well. DP also makes some great cleaners for the interior.

This is where I stand now. I don't have a lot of money but I do want to wax the car. Granted I don't have a badass polisher and waxes but what I have works.
