Anyone know the best way of going about installing the new dipstick tube on the PI swap? Do it before the heads are on..with the heads..etc...

Thanks guys.

In my opinion it would be done best while setting the head on the block. This of course would require 2-3 people to do, but trying to snake it through stock exhaust manifolds and then line it up with the hole is a big PITA!!! I did the swap without help, so I guess I brought the dipstick struggle upon myself :eek:ccasion14:

stick the new tube on when your swapping the manifolds over. be carefull when placing the heads on the block not to pinch it. once the heads are on, get under and put it in the block. put a little rtv on it to ensure a good seal.

My manifolds are already on my heads when we go to drop them down..its a lot easier that way. Putting manifolds in without them being attached to the heads is ridiculously difficult.

no no, i mean when you swap the manifolds over with the heads out of the car, put the dipstick between the manifold and the head then. not in the car, that would be rediculus hard. then drop the head/manifold/dipstick on the block all at one time. once the head is sitting on the block, then get under the car and stick the tube in the block.
