Well what can I say except I'm disappointed in my Trick Flow (track heat) intake. I sold my TF (street) over the winter
and bought the track heat well my old dyno# were 297hp-320tq my new# 289hp-307tq the old was in 91 degree heat
and a bit of humidity. today was 50 and almost no humidity not sure why. and didn't even carry the horse much longer
any comments ?

Street heat is gonna make more torque and is the better all-around manifold imo. If your gonna rev it high or use boost then the track heat is a better route.

TrickFlow claims that their Track heat manifolds shorter runners should gain 10 more hp. It's odd that your numbers didn't change for the
better, but then again to perform a fair comparison, it would have to be the same conditions (weather, humidity, etc...)

Very true and dynos change over time. How long ago did you have it run? Was it even the same dyno?

If you have a mild combo (especially the cam) you could lose power by going with an intake that is too large.

It was the same Dyno, and less than a years time between runs and the weather was much better than before
I think your rite Paul about the cam being the issue. sometimes its better off leaving well enough alone.

I wouldn't have messed with a TFS kit motor that was making 297 rwhp. That's right on par with what's advertised.

Also, one more thing to consider. The lowers are the same. You should have just swapped the uppers. Here's why. I run i a class that is very limited on intake choices. I picked up nearly 20 hp or more, just from my lower intake manifold. Shine a light down into the ports and make sure your intake gaskets aren't blocking flow as well as check your intake to head port match. They have core shift, where the ports will not be exact from intake to intake. Just some ideas, because I have seen increases, very small, but increases none the less from that swap you did.

Thanks for all the advise and comments guys. So lets say I put a custom cam from ED or call up Rick anderson
do you think that the new intake will make the motor come to life?

It's likely. It would be difficult to attribute power gains to the intake, as the cam will have a larger effect. You could definitely consider taking a look at port alignment like NXcoupe said.

Also, how old are the valve springs? They might be getting worn out and you might be loosing power because of it. I had that happen to me on my 95 GT a while back.

It all depends on the combo your running and where in the power band you want your power, your parts should all be designed for your choice of rpms.
And are you running a stock computer? Beacuse without a custom tune or chip your computer is only going to allow so much air/fuel flow on a stock tune. Especially if you have upgraded injectors and maf sensor and stuff like that. I have the same intake and all the other good stuff and had to get mine tuned and picked up over 60 hp and 54 ft lbs. at the rear tires after a good dyno tune session. I am very happy with all my trick flow parts , its just when you start upgrading parts there is always some other part u need to get the most out of the part u just put on!!! LOL.
