The motor in my fox, was runnin great... No clue how many miles are on it, not even sure what year fox its out of... but I do know that seafoam fucked something up...

Let me put it this way. If you started you car, and nasty white smoke started pouring out of the tail pipe, would you say, "WOW! THIS IS GREAT FOR MY CAR?"

No, you probably would not. You would probably think the complete opposite.

This is the first time using seafoam for me. The fox is coming off the road soon, I'm buying a truck... So the fox is gonna get overhauled... So I don't really care about the motor.

But it ran good... now it won't rev past 3 RPMs.

I don't trust the shit, never have, never will. People swear by it, but i really doubt it does anything at all, just makes smoke. You run the risk of fuckin shit up like me. Its common sense, thick nasty smoke = bad.

worst thread ever, ive got a fox and poured seafoam and worked great. my dads truck has 220,000 miles and i seafoamed it as well and it works great. this reminds of when people knock on synthetic oil on older cars.

No, I haven't checked the plugs, I replaced them a week or so before the seafoam. new wires too. Not gonna check em either. At this point, I don't care.

No rev limiter.

And no... It was the seafoam...

The car was running great before the seafoam... Immediately following the use of the seafoam, car ran like shit. Not a day later, not an hour later. Ran the shit into a vacuum line. Let the smoke dissipate. Got in and went out to do some fishing... Got on the road, motor won't rev past 3k. Tac needle bounces all over the place.

Seafoam fucked something up. Thats the bottom like. Seafoam and synthetic oil have nothing in common. Syth oil is good. Seafoam is bad.

its not a good idea to use syn oil in a older car cause it will use/leak oil more cause the molecules are smaller...well thats if you have any oil leaking or burning like I do.

My car used a lot of oil when I used synthetic..switched back and uses a lot less oil.

Seems to me that introducing a solvent into the combustion chamber could wash down the cylinder walls and cause the bore to be scored and all other manner of mayhem.

I stand by my statement - Seafoam is a gimmick.

ive used it a few times in my car and once in my boat. never had any problems with it whatsoever. when you did it, did you shut the engine off once you sucked it in through the vacuum hose and let it sit in the engine for a few minutes before you drove off. i know on the bottle it says to do that and you never mentioned it. not saying it made a difference or that you didnt do that but just wondering

maybe you used it wrong..and thats why you have problems..

I do half the bottle through the vac line...let is sit a half hour, then start it up and keep the revs up.

Does your CEL come on if your o2's die? Just curious.

I used it in my 146k mile 98gt and it worked fine afterwards, still does.

It should... I have no CEL... Somethings fucked up... I can't figure what it is... But I know its from the fuckin seafoam. Fords 2.3 I4 is a damn good, and reliable motor... There is no way that it got fucked up by coincidence... It was the seafoam...

Seafoam is the lazy jerry rig way of doing it correctly... Want to clean out the motor? Rebuild it.

I've always said this, never trusted seafoam due to the fact it smokes like all hell... but I never used it. Now that I have, I have justification behind my statement

I Seafoamed my Cobra at 140,000 and it was fine, I didn't notice a difference after I did it but I'm pretty sure it didn't screw anything up as it's still running hard as hell now at over 150,000 miles :dunno:

I'd say out of every ten people you can find that think it's awesome, you can find at least 3 who say it sucks ass. So I mean, those odd's are in it's favor, but I ain't never using that crap again.
