i purchased eclipse door speakers for my front speakers for now, and i have a pioneer deh-1900 headunit, i ran new speaker wire from speakers to radio but when i turn the radio up the tweeter part of the speaker goes out..

is this cause the headunit doesnt have enough power to push into the speakers? i know i can run the door speakers to a amp just havnt had the money to buy a amp yet for the door speakers..can i solve this problem without a amp for now??

the only speakers hooked to the headunit is the front 2 door speakers, i currently dont have any other speakers in my car besides the front

how loud is it when the tweeter cuts out? Some speakers have a protection in them to divert power at loud volumes to protect the tweeters, can't remember if eclipse is one or not....

Both side or just one?

both sides cut out, and in order for me to actually hear the speakers at a understandable level when the windows are down and drivin at 70-80 i gotta have the radio at 50-55 level, which my radio only goes to 62...they cut out around 58 level

there is a bigger problem if you can't hear your music until it is at 97% max volume, I normally try not to have it higher then 75% or so.. Not sure what is casing this but give a complete list of ALL audio gear in the car. And just for kicks, try fading all the sound the rear and see if those speakers do it also?

well, i only have front speakers in the car for now, stock tweeters, and rear speakers are not connected at all, i believe the reason i need it so high to actually hear something is cause i only have the 2 front speakers on for now

i have a pionner deh-1900 for the headunit and 2 5x7 (i believe)(whatever size the front door speakers are supposed to be) eclipse somthings lol..i will get info on the speakers tomorow if needed
and i have 2 kicker cvr's in the trunk which i keep at a minimum low just to have alittle bass since i have door speakers set to no bass at all

wow, ok that would be the reason why.... Did you remove the factory 5x7's or just never hook up the remote turn on wire so the factory amp can power them?

if your talking about the rears^^^^^the rear speakers are blown, i removed the rear amp box thing a long time ago and hooked just the factory rears 5x7's up to a aftermarket 4channel amp and they eventually blew and i never got around to changing them yet, but i did remove the amp from the rears, eventually im gonna hook up all the door speakers to a 4channel amp just dont have the time or money to do it just yet..

yea the 2 front door speakers work, just when i raise the volume past 55(when im doing 70 with the windows down) the tweeter inside the speaker shuts off and only the lows stay on.. the subs work fine, and there are no rear speakers and factory tweeters hooked up
