I cant get the Eibach Drag Springs in the front. They are way too long. Any ideas? For you that have installed them how did you do it?

depends on the spring, Matt (98_MustangGT) and I installed springs on his GT w/o using a compressor, but the springs were also shorter then the stockers

then your probibly doing it wrong. you could try unbolting the control arm all together and going about it that way.

Installing drag springs is a PITA. I put them on my frist Stang...never again.

If I remember right, the compressor wouldnt work and I ended up using a pry bar to wedge the suckers in there.

Then you weren't install eibach drag launches.

The trick is this. Hook the strut back up. THEN, unbolt the bolts where the control arm actually pivots....the control arm will swing down ALOT more. Place the spring in. Then put a jackunder the arm from the SIDE of the car. You're going to have to carefully jack the arm back up and push the jack in wards to get the control arm bolts in. Make sure you don't let go of the jack as you're doing this b/c it could spit back out THis will put tension on the spring and may raise the car up off the stands but keep messing with it and it will go right in. I do all front springs like this. I find it way easier than unbolting the strut.

single bolt spring compressor always works for me. That and I usually cut one coil off the bottoms for extra room and to drop the car for a better stance.

I've done it on my car and 4 others with no problems at all. All the cars were set up for drag with some street use. 60ft times ranging from 1.8 to 1.5 with just 50/50s out back and either 70/30 or 90/10s up front. Many people have done this with no ill effect.

if you're going to cut coils off a drag spring, whats the point of spending the money on them, when you can buy other springs for less...

b/c the spring rate for a drag spring is different than that of a lowering spring. 1 coil is not goinng to affect that much....trust me.

like said above. the drag springs are made longer to help keep the front up for better weight transfer. So by cutting a coil you do loose that inch in hight which does hurt the weight transfer but no by much.

I've given up on ride quality in my dd... i'm going solid motor mounts and tranny mount, and putting the Eibach drag springs on it front and rear with the 70/30's all the way around... also looking at the UPR rear antiroll bar, i don't mind dumping the exhuast. i could careless about driveability these days... if i'm going long distances, i use the wife's honda.
