So I want to up the power on my Mustang...

Which would be the better route for driveability? This car is going to be my daily driver for awhile, so I'm looking for a good setup that'll run fine everyday and give me awesome reliability and driveability. I'm not looking to make a TON of power, close to 300hp at the wheels will make me happy, I just want a little more pep. I'll prolly end up doing both eventually anyways, once I'm out of college and can afford to buy a little ricer or something to take over daily driver duties. So what's everyones opinions on this?

with a h/c/i car all you have is motor so nothing can really can go wrong but any time your dealing with a sc your gonna have to get it tuned plus boost can be very hard on a stock motor, so you really dont know how long it will last...i have a 94 gt with a vortech it does fine for dd duty but i baby it monday threw friday

h/c/i. less to screw up.

true that. Pick up a TFS kit if you want reliable. It's matched, not radical, and makes pretty good power for a decent price. Or if you want more, TW's, custom cam, edelbrock intake, and bolt ons with longtubes will make a badass car. That's where i'm working at right now

The Trickflow setup is what I was looking at when it came to H/C/I, so I guess that'll be what I'm gonna do.

Now to get money and time to do all of it. haha

I'll be going with the same setup as well. I've driven a fox body with this kit and though it's not really vicious like I was hoping for it maintained factory like driveability and was quick enough for a daily driver.

A vortech with stock pulley and stock crank pulley isn't going to hurt your motor one bit. It will push about 6-8# of boost through a stock 302 and will give you low 300's at the wheels. An H/C/I will get you closer to about 290 at the wheels. I stuck a 331 in my 95 with stock computer and didn't even need a tune(went on a dyno with air/fuel and was perfect). Now a blower you will want to get either a chip burned or get yourself an anderson PMS, or tweecer to tune the car with. But a blower will not put you on borrowed time at all. You can drive that thing for a long time with 6-8# of boost on it with no problems and it would be like driving a stock car since your not in boost until your getting into it.

Well... I still don't know...

I'm still sorta leaning torwards the H/C/I. There's quite a few guys I know that could help me with it where as no one really has a S/C setup around here. And on top of all that, its cheaper... One more thing I'm kinda halfway worried about it gas. What kinda of gas mileage can I expect out of either?

Your going to use more gas with a boost application. You can get both tuned so you can get good MPG but whats the point of putting on a S/C if your not going to get on it and when you do get on it its going to eat your gas. The same can be said for the H/C/I set up but it wont nearly eat up as much gas.
