I didn't see an interior section, so I'm just throwing this into the closest related forum.

On my car I have an electric driver's seat. I want to replace it with a non-electric seat of the same kind. Is it possible to just buy a second passenger side seat and mount it in the driver's side?

What all would I need to do this? Are the mounting points different for powered and non-powered seats?

Reasoning is that the driver's seat has a) Gone flat and b) weighs too much.

Thanks

on 99-04, i believe the seat belt is attached to the seat and not the body of the car. so if you used a passenger seat on your driver's side, the buckle for the seat belt would be on the wrong side. this is most evident in the fact that you have a seat belt warning light built into your car opposed to 94-98's that dont.

if it isnt, you could use it as long as you used manual seat racks. but the lever to adjust the angle of the back rest would also be on the wrong side.

it would probably be best to find a non-powered driver's seat in your color

Thanks!

I got some info from blackmustangclub as well, and I think what I'm going to do is remove the electric base and find a deal on a corbeau slider bracket. I can deal with a flat drivers seat. Or maybe I can find one from a junkyard for next to nothing or a trade. Who knows.

Then whenever I can afford it, just replace both seats with some nice corbeaus. :)

I just took the drivers seat off the bracket, then stole the manual bracket from my dads pass seat. Mated the two and mounted it. Works fine, although i really dont need to adjust the seat too much considering im the only one that drives my car.

I found a base model V6 Mustang in the local Pick N Pull which had a manual drivers seat. I removed the manual track from the seat and used it to replace the power track on my Mustang.
