I am thinking about switching my 2.73 gears to 3.27. Car is T5 manual, engine is stock and will most likely remain stock. Car is meant to be a cruiser mostly. I am sometimes driving on highway at 80 mph. Tire size is also kept stock 245/45 R17. Considering rpm and speed calculations, I think 3.27 will be a good choice.

Can you please recommend me gear brands? Shall be durable and quiet.

I am also thinking about switching to aluminium driveshaft. Do you think it would be a good upgrade for my car? Would I notice big improvement?
Also please recommend me reliable, good quality brands.

I need to make sure to use reliable brands because returning parts due to quality claims is not a real option from overseas...

FRPP is the best set of gears, and any of the big aftermarket sites carry it (just don't buy from American Muscle, they are the worst). LMR and CJ are good places.

You will not notice anything just changing a driveshaft. You are better off saving your money if there's nothing wrong with the original steel. But if you're set on getting it, then again FRPP has them ready made for the car and you can't go wrong with FRPP. Just make sure you use brand new pinion flange driveshaft bolts along with loctite (at least blue but ideally orange, or red if you're certain it's never going to get removed for a long time).

Like @cobrajeff96 stated the Ford gears are the way to go. They are the simplest to setup as they are factory quality and machined to dang near a direct swap with minimal shim changes. I would suggest 3.55. I feel like 3.55 is the all around street / highway gear. Them 2.73 are straight airplane gears. Running the 2.73 in sprints on them straight roads youll never get to the top of 3rd gear

Another vote for FRPP gears.

As for the driveshaft, it's a nice-to-do but you likely won't notice a thing. From a mechanical standpoint, the larger diameter shaft will change the RPM in which shaft critical speed occurs, which should result in a smoother drive. The critical speed occurs at an RPM that is now no longer practical. This is generally what the dogbone dampener was meant to help with. But vast majority of folks swapping a shaft don't notice a thing, and some have clearance issues with the larger diameter shaft if their car is lowered. I've seen them rub on mufflers or parking brake cables.

I have an Al shaft on my fox, but stocker on my SN95. I do have a vibration at 80MPH that i always wondered was shaft related as changing my trans mount helped, but didn't cure it 100%

It's most likely going to be 3.55 because I can't find any FRPP 3.27 gears at online vendors.

FRPP 3.27s are no more. Ford does the 3.31 now and since the ratio is so close they discontinued the 3.27

I have the 3.27s in my GT which is strictly a cruiser and think it’s a great ratio for that purpose. Changing the gears has never crossed my mind for a car I don’t plan on racing.
