I got that one..I just bought a new canister..it is a 10 minute job, if that. This was in may/june and my light has stayed off since then (at least that code has :hammer:). It is located behind the plenum on the passenger side of the car. I don't remember the price it was fairly cheap though $15-20 IIRC.

some people have told me to replace the canister, while other just the valve, then others say it's a bad or cracked rubber line!! I have no clue. I guess I can just start at 1 point and work from there. Thanks.

This is the piece that took care of my code.. While i did replace the canister and the other "purge valve"... those didn't clear my code..

That was the culprit! I got mine at NAPA.

and the code hasn't came back on since..

edit: and this was the cheapest out of all the parts... So I would suggest giving that shot first..

Listen to gt96stang as he is right. I work on a fleet of police cars ( same motor 2v ) and they always throw that code #1443. On the Crown Vics they are located on the passenger side near the back of the head but I am not sure where they are located on our cars. You can buy them at the ford dealer real cheap if you cannot find them anywhere else. I hope this helps with your problem.

yup, same general location on the mustang as well... I mean, I would not give the advice if I didn't go through the trouble of replacing it all myself.. But if you go to the back of the intake plenum and follow the line coming off it, you can find it pretty easily..

Yeah, I went to the Junk Yard today and found 2 SN95 cars, both had no motors (were v6 cars anyways) but I did get all the misc. stuff I needed from them. I looked over at least a dozen Crown Vics/ect and could not locate it anywhere, I even found one with the whole top-end gone but still could not find it. Then I was told later that they are located inside the inner fenderwell on the CV and I looked it up online, and yeah, they are. As for you saying on the back of the Pass. head, they are not there from what I see..... oh well. It's $25 new from NAPA and they are the only one's who carry it as well..... so i will be going there tomorrow.

Anyone know how to test one of these??
I've had this code forever and I'm going to have to smog my car in a couple months so I need to get rid of my P1443 code.
I've already replaced the hoses from the intake to the charcoal canister, the sensor, and the solenoid. It went away for a few months but now it's back.
I'd like to see if maybe the sensor I got is defective or something before I go replacing the charcoal canister or other expensive items.
