Dumb Question

Ok, I am fairly new at learning to mod my 98 sixer. I have done a couple of simple bolt ons (udp, cai, dual exhaust). I have read about the changing over or going with a 4.2l f-150 motor but what I have not found out is if I can do the windstar intake to the 4.2? I don't plan on doing anything like turbo charging or supercharging. I just want to add a little pep. If I read correctly, it's already a split port right? Thanks for any info.

yep, the 4.2 from a F-150 is a splitport.

and yep, you can put a windstar upper intake on it. all splitport lower intakes are the same, so the windstar upper fits on them all

Cool. With everything else staying the same on my current setup, would it be worth doing? I know it's not going to net a whole lot, but anything noticeble would be enough for me. I am just looking for a somewhat basic start into modding so I thought this might be a good way to go. I figured I would just find a spare 4.2 and do the intake upgrade and swap engines.

you'll be adding 55hp and around 40ftlbs of torque, you'll notice it lol

it is a great basic start and you'll be setup to make great power if you decide to get a Vortech or Procharger later

look into SSM's new upper intake also. it's more direct than the windstar.
