Hi everyone! I eventually plan on taking my 99 Cobra to the track for the first (Buttonwillow Raceway).
The car has 75,xxx miles. The car has been sitting for over 2 years and hasn’t been started for over 6 months . At least it’s in Souther California, so the temp never dipped down too low.
What should my first steps be? Flush all fluids?
I’m pretty sure the tires need to be replaced as it has just been sitting there. I’m looking at Sumitomo HTR s iii or Nitto 5555s for my stock 17s and want a square set up. The car will not be daily driven and will be driven to the track (122 miles one way). Suggestions on sizes or other tires?
The car has Eibach Sportlines and blown shocks/struts which I will replace with some Bilsteins (not sure which ones). I eventually want to put some Maximum Motorsports coil-overs, but I’m just gonna take baby steps.
Should I address the brakes, Hawk HP-Plus and dot 3 fluid?
I don’t have any road course experience and will be going to organized track days and getting an instructor. Any help and tips will be greatly appreciated!!
Jay
