What is everyone's opinion on efi vs carbed ? I have been hearing alot of debates .Does one give you better gas milage, is one better for a certain application.I was planning on doing a 347 stroker ,and was wondering if it would be beneficial to just go with a carb. but it will be a street car still is that a good idea? It seems so much easier with a carb. ,(no computer issues ).opinions please..THANKS

easier to tune yourself...(carb) depending on how well you build the engine they are very streetable with carbs....my 408 is going carb'd and possibly my 302 this year not to sure yet..

It's certainly cheaper to build a carb motor also.

It's true, but it take more gaz then EFI, if your car is a daily driver, you should think about it.

EFI will give you a little better gas mileage and better emissions. If you are in an area where they inspect cars for emissions compliance then stay away from a carb.

That being said, for my money I would much rather have a carb. No computer crap to deal with, no sensor issues, no TPS problems, no nothing. It's purely mechanical and it is my friend.

They've been around for over 100 years and cars are still setting records with them. :coolsmiley: You can't argue with that. My wife's carbed 331 has throttle response that will make a die hard EFI guy jealous too.

I'm going carb'd with my 393, but efi is fairly accurate as far as everything goes... I want a Carb to be different and save on price.
