hey guys the mach 1 is still misfiring and we've replaced everything from cop's, to spark plugs. and its still doing it. well around here most gas stations (and we cant find one that doesnt) have 10% of ethanol which is a rice based gas. since the mustang is a finely tuned car, could that cause some problems?

Ethenol is a corn based gas. Everybody puts it in the gas due to government mandates. The only thing ethenol will hurt is your fuel milage. You may notice a drop in power but doubtful.

But to answer your question, no it won't cause you to have a misfire.

you're cars ecu can pick up a slight change as a % of ethanol in the gas, clean your maf and see if that fixes the problem

I don't know, I have an intermittant misfire on my mustang with both 10% and non reformulated. Haven't been able to track it down by doing everything from coil packs to plugs to cleaning MAF to verifying the EGR was working. I thing the short block maybe getting tired, good excuse for me to upgrade.

please go back, and read my origional post on the first help me thread. Get this car to a dealership, have them DIAGNOSE the problem and i guarentee, their diagnosis of the problem will be LESS then what you have in to trying to fix it by throwing parts at it.

I must be lucky because I have a guy that works at ford that works on my car for side money. He does all the upgrades on mustangs for 4 dealerships. Ill be stopping by on sat for him to just run codes and tell me what the car is doing.

I have a associate who is a Tech and has his an Automotive Engineering degree and 30yrs in business who insists that cleaning the MAF usually doesn't reverse the damage the oiled filters that hit it and burn up do to it when running aftermarket filters.
I have a miss and i mentioned i was swapping my plugs this weekend and maybe coil packs and he told me to swap in the extra MAF i have to see if that does it.
Just an FYI for you to check on yours since nothing else worked.
