I picked up a magnapack cat back and started installing it yesterday. Its flat out kicking my ass. I found what appeared to be the easiest way to put it on was to start at the back and work forward but even thats not quite working out for me. Has anyone else installed one that can shed some light on why i'm having issues lining it up? I've got clearance issues on the driveshaft tunnel and upper arms which makes no sense at all. At this point I have the tips & axle section in and the mufflers mated up but I can't get the flow tubes positioned right to make everything work out. This is probably the 8th or so catback I've installed.

Keep rotating the flow tubes, I thought mine weren't going to fit without cuttign but after i rotated the tubes (multiple times) I found the correct position and everything went together perfect

Another tip, make sure you use loctite on the allen screws holding the tips on

Thanks... I actually don't have the set screws. I had a small hole in the big bag o'parts and there was only 1 set screw in there. I checked the box and everywhere. I have a small bolt in there now, but loctite was the 1st thing that went through my mind when i saw them.

I installed a magnapack set up on an 01 gt (shiftmx is his user name) and it only took about an hour or so to install, about 30 min or so to get the old one off...

Getting the old stuff off wasn't all that bad. I think what killed me was that it started getting dark and I was trying to rush it. I'll just take a step back and come back at it again later. I just thought it was funny I was getting my ass kicked by a cat back.

X 2 but on an 03 GT.
To the OP. I don`t even think it was that long. Maybe the new edges are slightly different or I got lucky as I`ve had couple of ba$tards that don't play ball . You have a pit? I started from the cats, basically followed the instructions to the letter for fitting but cut the old exhaust off for speed. Best exhaust i,ve ever had BUT the car was stock. Is yours lowered ?

You can get more set screws at Lowes.

When I pulled my Magnaflow catback and put it back on, was the biggest PITA cause I done it under a carport with one jack. Sucked big time.

Its done now. I screwed up by hanging the pipes from the hangers 1st then trying to line them up. I just put it all together got it snug then put the hangers on. took like 45 mins. Sounds ok. I'm not that impressed with it but i still have my stock H pipe.
