So I have suspected a cracked exhaust maniflod since this past summer. I decided no biggy it'll just be an annoyance and that I would live with it for the time being. Well this past week I took the stang up to CO for a week and since i've been back I've noticed the ticking sound has gotten much louder and I started smelling fumes in my car esspecially when I turn the heater on. I think that the colder weather may have made the crack bigger. Being on the fire department, I decided to grab a gas detector and the the Carbon Monoxide levels in my car jumped off the chart. The thought never crossed my mind that a cracked manifold could become dangerous. Has anyone ever had this problem? and would it be a safe bet that this is indeed coming from my exhaust manifold? I am going to pull the headers off with my next paycheck and throw some after market ones on. Theoretically this should fix my problem right? Just wanted to throw this out there, any input is welcome.

yeah it was definitely a cracked header. unfortunately whoever owned the car before me welded it and did a horrible job so rewelding is not an option. I have some bbk shorties on the way from am so ill throw those on next weekend. Also going to put some flowmaster 40s on since the previous owner threw on some japanese knock offs. Anyone have this set up on theirs? does it sound good? ive got true duals no mid pipe which is goin to stay for now. well ill post pics when i finish the project.

I take it that if your running true duals u got a V6.
A few questions about that are u runnin with a divorced pipe?
Do you still have your cats on it?
also if the cats are/arent there how does it sound?
If you removed the cats did it drop your torque very much?
