Ok, I'm getting ready to do my H/C/I swap, I have the combo listed in my sig. My question deals with my headers as I was planning on keeping the stock exhaust headers but someone said I'd be killing alot of HP. I was only figuring I'd gain maybe 7-8 rwhp with a set of aftermarket headers. I did just get my heads and lower intake back from porting and the guy did a great job of porting as they look pretty hogged out. So with my opened up heads and intake, would I be losing more than like 8 hp? I already have the offroad X and I'm planning to cut the cats off. Headers are expensive so I kinda don't wanna throw 200 dollars toward them when I still have to pay for a dyno tune. (Or do you think it would be a better Idea to get a mailoder tune from dirty racing 180$ and get the headers?)

Each setup will experience different gains from headers, but IMO you should get aftermarkets. When you compare the restrictive ports of the stockers to the aftermarket ones you will understand how bad you're choking your engine with stock

I think you should definitely go with headers. I dont know about the power difference but I mean our stick headers are pinched pretty bad right at the head. But I believee the difference you will notice is a wider power band and a much better throttle response.

But are they worth picking up over getting a dyno tune ? And how much better would the dyno tune be over a mail order tune with my mods (would there even be a big difference as I dont have anything too crazy)?

Yeah, you should see more than 8hp. Better gains than a dyno tune? No, but they're not that expensive and it will probably be worth the extra cash (to do both)

Shoot look on your Local CL. Just tonight a guy had a set of BBK shorty's for a fox. They will work on our cars but you would have to delete the egr and i am keeping mine. Oh yeah he only wanted $35 bucks.

Thats a good price, I'm going the EGR delete route so I guess I could get some fox headers cheap and still maybe get the tune. :headbang:
