It looks like I may have to replace the oem muffs after 22 years.

The misses wants the car as oem as possible.

I think I can get away with only changing the muffs and retaining everything else.

What muff would be as close to oem as possible?

Its a vert and she wants to hear the radio, not the exhaust.

I also want to sneak a set of 3.55s in there, the 3.08s are pretty boring, even with a 5.0/T5.

You can just get some replacement mufflers from Rockauto, who conveniently are a vendor on here.

The first one looks promising.

My wife actually asked me to make our car LOUDER after the annual Parade in May a few years ago!! It's a big hit with the kids & spectators to hear us rev our cars So I now run an off road H pipe & Magnapack Catback....it is beautifully LOUD!

The last time I bought a catback or mufflers was about 98, so its been awhile and my memory is a bit fuzzy.

It looks like the Flowmaster 50 series might be a possibility.

What about the 3 chamber Magnaflows?

Our 65 had 2 chamber Magnaflows on it when we bought it and you could hear that car a mile away.
