exploder heads ?

i was talkin to one of my teacher and he was saiding that late v8 exploder had cast gt40 heads. I was wondering if that is true and would they bolt on to a sn95 5.0 block? Also what emissions do they have? are the same on a sn95? would it just be a bot-on like that aluminum gt40 heads?

yes hes right about that but im not sure of the emissions and i think certain year models are gt40 and some are gt 40p, but im not sure about that. intake is also gt40. surely some one on here knows what year model to target and what the differences are but he is correct and its common for people to do. so it cant be too hard

ok apparently the early 97 and down are gt40 and late 97 and up are gt40p. search it on yahoo you will find plenty of discussions about it. it

as of what i've heard, the gt-40p heads flow better but you have to get a certain kind of header that will fit with em, and yes the emission crap bolts on the same spot for all emission based 302 heads

96 and early 97 explorers had GT40 heads with 3 lines marked in the iron toward the back of the head.
97+ had GT40P heads with 4 lines marked toward the back of the head. the GT40p heads have a straighter
exhaust port, causing most gt40p owners to have to run (i believe) MAC headers, and possibly another brand
(can't remember). more exhaust choices with the reg. GT40s.
