Looking to start customizing my exterior. As far as plans that i had there were a few different routes i was planning on going. My first idea was to do the full Roush valance kit and side exit exhaust (car was sent to Roush in '99 by the previous owner for some drive-train upgrades and body kit, and the previous owner sold the kit before i bought it), with new headlights, and a y2k cobra hood. my second idea was Mach-1 chin spoiler, new headlights, lip spoiler (saleen maybe?) and a cowl hood, possible smoked 96-98 tails as well. just looking to see what you all think i should do, any and all input is welcome, thanks!

here is how the car currently looks

okay here'smy opinion! other will probably agree :dontknow:

OEM Cobra front bumper
SVO style sideskirts with side exhaust
oem style cobra headlight's
Cobra y2k hood or CobraR 2.5 cowl hood (with finished underside) and no hood pins, please!!!
Saleen S281 rear spoiler
lightly tint your taillight's or leave your's stock, remove and save them, get some vertical's and tint those
export side view mirror's
You're wheels are fine but if you're doing wheel's do some 18x9/18x10 fr500's in anthricite or black chrome

Sorry, wrong side. I may not know absolutely nothing about every thing, I do know about making them pretty!

If you want, I can send you exactly what I bought. I had that Borla/SVO side exhaust. Very hard to find! I just got lucky.

i say do this.. but tinted headlights like 1stof3, DO NOT GET 96-98 TAILS!! STAY WITH STOCK!! or tint them (i have an extra set if you want to do both?), do a mach 1 chin on a cobra bumper lol (see sig), no s-281. please,. those wheel are sweet. drop the front a bit, possibly go spoilerless. you have got to make this YOUR car.. not ours. look through the calendar thread where ppl were giving their pics and get ideas that you like from there.

I personally like the 96 lights better.
a chin spoiler and possibly a cobra hood if you want to spring for that.
Definately tint your windows.

Beyond that are you looking to do a full body kit, or more of a bolt on type change?

Almost exactly what i was thinking, even the wheels, hahaha, just need to find someone to trade with. How much are those side-skirts with the exhaust? i want to start pricing everything out. Just sold my talon and i'm getting an Audi A4 for a daily, and the rest left over is like $1500 that i have to spend, and obviously i can add stuff over time

P.s. No one thinks i should go the Roush route?

No the roush front and back bumpers are extremly ugly. I agree with everyone else about the exterior mods. I would search around the forums or go to Ciottiindustries.com (he is a member on here) and look at all the cars he has posted on his site....it will give you lots of ideas

opinion: leave bodykits alone. your car is 15years old -dress her like a classic. Old Skool styling looks better with age while modern stuff looks dated in a few yrs. Our 5.0 cars mark the end of an era and -to me- they need to have some vintage swagger.

Yeah, i didn't plan on putting a body kit on it, besides the roush valance kit 'cause it had been to Roush and had work done and gotten the kit back in the dayyyy

the roush side skirts are the only good part about that kit. the front is dumb because it leaves a huge gap in the middle. the rear isn't soo bad but still not that nice. as far as the exhaust, good luck with all that. been there done that and paid out the ass for it. Not to mention trying to find the skirts will take you months of diligent searching.

someone on here has roush skirts w/ cut out in the back where his side exhaust comes thru, looks pretty good -for a car w/ skirts, anyway.
imo:
Cobra wheels look best w/ near stock lines. If you do anything to make the car look more agressive, the wheels become the weak link. The Cobra wheels have a simple, classy look. Think a/b the car they came on: smoothed skirts, low profile "spoiler", boxed front and rear bumpers... it's very subtle looking.
If you put on a chin spoiler (I like the Shinoda piece the best) on it then it's like dress shoes and shorts. Both are cool -just not together.
my vote?
keeping the Cobras or going w/ fr500s or GT2s or other technical style? do a Saleen nose (it lines up nicely w/ the factory skirts) and S281 wing.
Wanna go w/ a "modern reinterpretation of the classic stang" look? do the Shinoda lip, and Mach1 wheels (w/ dd rears) or 17" or 18" Cragars or torque thrusts or Foose Thrusts. I think a satin black s281 would be cool. Could get away w/ the Steeda wing here if you wanted. Or go w/o wing and do window louvers.
Or say "screw it all" like I did, ditch your skirts and wing, then mount up some 15s and rake it out!

I tried getting those Roush skirt with the cutout about 2 years ago, I think. I couldn't find any then. prob won't now. I was up in the air either my 96-98 Cobra hood or that single step one. I love mine, but still wonder how it's look with that hood. I'm still thinking about getting ABC's side skirts. I just have never been that happy with my stock ones. People on here say they go in good with my bumper, not to me. I love my 281 wing!!!

Be different and by be different, I mean copy dafizuck's old car.

Saleen front, Roush sideskirts, Saleen 351 Wing, Saleen heat extractor hood, stock rear.
