Fuses, fuse links, and relays. Is the CCRM where the relays are for the fans?

Some of the cars have a fusable link, some don't. I don't know which ones.
Is the 12v signal coming out of the CCRM making it to the pigtail that plugs into the fan? Hi and Lo?
Is the pigtail melted on the inside? That's the purpose of the fuseable link.

Yes Rich, the fan relays are in the CCRM. Along with the fuel pump relay, and the A/C relay.

The fuse is fine.. Pig tail looks fine.. Yes it has the link but it works fine.. Not sure which pin goes to the actual fan..

You try to just run two wires from the battery to see if it comes on.or just replace it save yourself the headache later

i had to put extra grounds in for my CCRM to work properly. did you check the ground (i know you manually grounded it) but if the ground the entire CCRM runs to is too weak/corroded it may still give you problems.

I'll try to ground the CCRM tomorrow...

no, spliced into the wiring harness, if i remember correctly (that was literally october 2011 when we first fired this critter up, which required the CCRM. lol)

Tried another CCRM.. Nothing... might swap out that part of the wiring harness.. When I get a chance.. Tried another ground too.. Then rev if that does not work..

Made a lil progress today after work.. After swapping 3 ccrms. Im not getting any power from the fuse box to pin 3 &4 4. Those supply constant power from the Batt to the fans.. So I have split wires some wetter from the fuse box to the ccrm..

having the same exact problem. I removed my fan and rad to do some work on the intake, put everything back. and since then my fan will not come on. ran a switch, but that thing keeps getting to hot. swapped out my CCRM, still nothing. plan on pulling the rad and fans off tomorrow to see if maybe there is a harness unplugged. maybe we are tracking down the same gremlin

Talked to a friend of mine who works at a ford dealership. he told me to check 2 things. He says there are 2 sensors on our intakes that tell the fans when to come on when the temp gets to a certain degrees. One is the sensor that tells your gauge how hot the motor is, if your gauge is working, then that sensor is fine. the other one runs into the front the metal pipes that go into your heater core. Its on the top one in the front of the motor. Im not sure how you would test it, being it kicks on at a certain temp. Im not sure if you can just bypass this senser. Im going to test it tomorrow. Maybe this is what your issue is also?

also if you still have your AC hooked up, the fans should turn on when you turn the AC on. whether its filled or not, when that knob is turned to ac it should kick on. I guess that would be a way to test the CCRM?

This is all new to me so if i said anything that's false someone please correct me :)

Sounds stupid, but i had the same prob. My elec wire got too close to the belt and it ate through the ground wire without me knowing. Took me forever to find the ground was bad and it cost me a radiator.

Here is an update for ya. 1st i have to say, im not trying to high jack your thread, im just hoping with both of us trying to track down the same problem, that maybe we will both end up with the same results.
This is just my theory: One way to test relays and the CCRM is by jumping your high and low switch and turning your AC on. Im guessing this send the same signal to the CCRM to turn on the fans.
I did this and my fans came on. The only thing that is removed from this process of the fans being told to turn on, is the engine coolant temp switch

Im not sure if you have your AC removed or not, and im not sure if you have to have your compressor hooked up for this all to happen

As far as testing the ECTS. you will need to ohm it out. or just go spend the 15 bucks and buy a new one and see what happens. You can always return it, if this doesnt work.
I have tested everything else on my car.. relays, fuses, CCRM, AC, harness, wires, and the fan its self. Everything checks out fine. I hope this helps you, even if its just a little.
