Fender turn signal??

I think it'll look neat. Give it a shot.. the worst that can happen is it looks bad and you just remove them.

LEDs in the turn signals cause hyper flash when they REPLACE the stock incandescent bulbs, just adding LEDs to the stock circuit shouldn't cause a change because if anything it's increasing the resistance.

Well if he wired them in series with the existing lights then maybe yes then they would increase the resistance but the chance that he did that is pretty slim and if he did the resistance gained would be very low. An led operates pretty much the same as a regular diode impedence wise which means it will show infinite impedence(open) one way(and will not light up) but the other way when it does light up it shows up as a very low impedence(nearly 0). So when you put resistors(or lights in this case) in parallel what happens is you drop the over all impedence of the circuit to a level that will be below the lowest impedence(in this case the leds showing nearly 0 ohms forward biased). That is why it hyperflashes.....

interesting, i wouldn't think a couple LEDs would drop the system that low seeing as they don't draw much power, but I didn't realize that. Seems like wiring them in series would be the logical way to do it, I think it would work just fine but I've never tried it.


OP those side markers look alright, but keep in mind a lot of those cars that come with them actually have an indent in the fender for them to mount. You're going to want to make sure the ones you get are made to mount on a flat surface, otherwise it's going to look and fit pretty horrible.

I second that. Lights like that will look rice.

It all depends on the lights you can use. If you get lucky and find the right ones it might work. Most likely they will be too big and look bad /

Id be more interested in the mirror idea. I could probably make my own in the mirror. All you have to do is scrape some of the mirror stuff off the back of the glass. Just a question of finding the right light bulb mount and wiring.

I have no turn signal in the front of my car... haven't been stopped in 6 years knock on wood.....I just cock my wheels so people know which way I'm going.

Do whatever you think it nice, but remember I paid big buck for new fenders and a repaint because I wanted to get rid of the stockers that came on my export-mustang.

I would rather have the emblem then the light personally, or as he did above just fill it and paint it to do it right.
