Do i *HAVE* to drop the gas tank to install this? I mean it looks like i can just take off the filler neck and move it aside and install a new grommet? has anyone done this instal, and do i have to drop the gas tank or can i just put a new one in there with the tank on the car.

FYI i have a full tank of gas. :(

IDRO You would be surprised at how far the neck goes into the tank. When i changed my fuel pump I just dropped the whole thing. Trust me it will be easier that way. I had a full tank too.
Unbolt everything, put a jack with a piece of wood underneath and try lowering the one side. Get a bucket underneath to catch the fuel. I tried to syphon my gas out = no workee. I know it looks like you can just move the neck but it kind of hard due to the length of it.

You don't have to drop the tank completely. When I did mine, I just unbolted the filler neck behind the door, unbolted the two fuel tank straps and dropped the tank down with a floor jack about 8" or so without disconnecting and fuel lines/connectors or anything. It took a big of maneuvering but I was able to change it.

Definitely can be done without completely dropping the tank, just takes some manuevering. Ive done it. Unless you have to get into the tank, I think its best to leave it as close to its home as possible. Having an assistant helps. AS has been said, scroll through the Stangnet forums and Corral as someone there has a writeup with pics.
