Today my friend and I covered my rear seat delete with Vinyl, and put a nice top piece on it with a bracket to lock it in, but have it removeable.

Came out AWESOME

Wood was free, had it lying around, vinyl cost ~$30

So my RSD only cost me $30, compared to the 100-150 they charge to get one premade...and honestly, mine looks better with the top piece anyway!

I also have a bunch of extra vinyl now...may attempt to cover my visors in vinyl...or something like that.

did you put it in for looks or weight? i would think if you made it out of wood, that it would probably be heavier than the seat was.

Nah, it was like 1/4" plywood...super light. Way lighter that the back seat.

Came out well Jon, lets get those tails done tomorrow.

i wonder if there's a way to make one that is lighter than the seat, but still has enough structural integrity to hold 1 or 2 persons when absolutely needed.

If you just add a cross beam underneath it would probably support someone...but why get a RSD if u may need someone in the back?

Thanks guys, yea it came out pretty much MINT, super excited about it.

I got the seats used with brackets for $500 last summer...got a deal on them.

you could cover the door panel lower inserts. i think that would be cool looking. the RSD turned out good.

I've tried...but the material is too thin, staples go through it and come out through the vinyl
