Finally got a video of the ticking sound. Can anyone diagnose?

This might sound like a dumb suggestion, but have u checked your exhaust manifold/header gaskets and/or bolts?

5.0s have a reputation for breaking gaskets and kicking out bolts. Everyone I know of has had problems with them(including myself).

I've pulled of the header. cleaned the flange, couldnt see any black(exhaust leak apparent). I did not change the gasket though. It only comes from one side though. The passenger side.

Its really hard to diagnose over the internet but It sounds like an Exhaust leak.

When my RR got loose and caused havoc you knew. It sounded like metal on metal death.

Yea had that happen recently actually. Lock nut came loose, didnt tear anything up too the extent of replacing though. So should I just try new gaskets? Any suggestions as to what kind?

I used the Felpro gaskets and mine blew within 3 months. So I went with BBK. I also have BBK LTH.

I used some Mr. Gasket header gaskets. They're fabric. I wonder if copper would make it stop

With the engine cold, just put your hand close to the headers.

Have someone turn it on and rev it(or rev it urself with the cable), if the sound follows a pattern similar to how must gas ur giving it it is most likely the header gaskets.

Also, you would feel the heat and a bit of hot air from where the gasket is cracked or is missing a bolt.

DO NOT TRY TO DO THIS WITH A HOT ENGINE!!!! HEADERS GET REALLY HOT REALLY QUICK!!!

Yah ha. Got a few good scars from an old truck I used to play with. It does increase with revs, all my bolts are tight. The only thing would be a crack, leaky ball flange, or cracked header

also one more thing to check is the harmonic balancer. I wouldn't really think this is the problem but it's easy to check
