The car developed a very noticable stutter today when cruising at 55-60 and lightly accelerating above 45. It goes away below 40 and above 65.
It feels like bad gas but more like its coming in and out of lock up on the trans.

Any thoughts on where to look? Car has fresh TR55 plugs, FRPP wires and no check engine light. I have not flushed the trans yet since I've had it its got 185k on it but service receipts shows it was done around 130k.

Does it only shutter at low rpm? Like between 1500-2400rpm in 5th? Mine has done that occasionally for quite some time but just a few days ago it got really severe. I was cruising along on the highway in 5th gear and it started running so bad it couldn't hold its speed, so I got off the highway and the car was shaking like it had stage II cams so I let it idle for a couple minutes and revved it a little and it got better. I've been seeing slight stuttering problems with it since then but nothing as severe. Mine has new plugs/wires as of last year so I'm going to go ahead and replace the plugs and hope that fixes the problem, if it does not I will be replacing the coil packs and going on from there. Keep in mind my car has over 165,xxx miles

I had this "fluttering" on a '96 V-8 T-Bird. Once the trans got flushed at 50K it stopped. I would recommend a trans flush and a filter change as the flush does absolutely nothing for a dirty filter.
