The roads in az have a little steeper ramp on the side of them then most areas because of the flash-rains they get. Because of this there were more then a few I had to be carefull on right hand turns or the car would drag horribly on the passenger side in front of the back wheel on the under-body.

Jeez yeah I don't have those problems here are roads aren't terribly steep. But steep enough that if I was driving fast enough and weaved back and forth fast enough you could scrape it on the peak of a smooth road. Bumpy roads, as always, need to be taken with caution around here. Shit coilovers or bags? Screw this spring/old strut combo

If you can afford the bags, there is no question IMO. One of those purchases where it hurts to swipe the card, but every time you get in and drive after that you realize it was worth it.

If your muff were getting hung up on that it was on the car wrong and hanging too low. That doesn't appear to be sticking out of the street very much at all. As for the city I'm sure they will laugh esp when they see a car with lowered susp. I can totally relate as I did the same thing to my gt 6 years ago coming off a bridge. I learned and rehung the new exhaust tight to the floor and never another issue. PA roads are shit so it has been tested thoroughly.

Ram360 he said how big it is..

Either way Kill.. That is ridiculous man! What the hell is that thing anyway? I have never seen one of those in construction near me. And sticking up 4''.. WTF! lol. I hope they will cover the cost of it to make it go away man. Its not like your asking for a new car. $500 and the issue disappears. Hopefully they fess up

Thanks Shifty Powers! And the cop and I kinda determined it to be a water access lid for lack of better understanding as to what it really is. My neighbor had contacted my mom after hearing the Turdstang ROARING down the ****in street and after she told him what happened he had said that he too had hit that and ended up snagging something off his car that we don't remember what it was. And he drives a gay little Hyundai lol.

So it's not just me, it's not how I mounted the mufflers... It's the damned angle of the street and the height of this damned lid thing. Good news is in the police report I picked up today it says "Officer took photographs of both the damage, and access lid.... This officer also placed additional cones in the construction area and advised Caracci Jr. (me) that a damage to property report would be taken as the incident occurred on city property." So that is slightly reassuring that the report pretty much shows that the area was an unmarked hazard to begin with. We'll see what happens when my mom calls the asphalt company tomorrow... And for the record the cop had NO idea of the lowered suspension as I already had the car jacked up when he got there because I had no idea the damage from simply looking under it.

As for the mufflers, the only person on this site (off the top of my head) that knows how these specific mufflers fit under our cars would be MustangChris He could tell you that there is no REALLY good way to mount these bastards. They aren't made to fit underneath these cars, but I made it work. There is literally no room for even a pinky in between the muffler and the body of the car. I have them mounted up as tight as they would go. Had NO problems at all once they were finished mounted, up until now..

What the hell is that thing anyway?

It's a water line curb valve. Basically, it's a shaft that goes down into the ground a few feet and it has a removable cover on top. At the bottom, there's a valve that controls the water supply to the building. The municipality's water department use a tool like the one shown below to turn the water supply on/off. Ideally, they try and place these along the grass "strip" between the street and the sidewalk, or up closer to the building. But as cities grow and expand, street widening projects take place and it's not uncommon to find them in the middle of the road. When resurfacing takes place, they stick up a few inches until they can lay down new asphalt and get them back at-grade with the rest of the street..... one of the reasons that I avoid construction areas with my car at all costs.

yes, guilty... I use to moonlight as a tv voice announcer SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! I was actually the voice for Anthony Sullivan till my career came to a sudden end.

My exhaust has gently rubbed a couple of places with the air bags but it didn't take more then 1 time to learn those spots and be sure the car was high enough to clear them.

My car sits kind of high. So they only time I have scrapped my exhaust (at least I think thats what is hitting) is either a speedbump. Or a normal road. Happened again last night. I actually think I am hitting my Kmember more than my exhaust based on the scrapes and the fact my exhaust hasnt ripped off my car yet.

First time was driving around behind my buddy in his BMW on a road near us. Going as fast as we were it kind of went slight downhill then bent in the road and shot off slightly uphill 45 degrees in the other direction. So my suspension compressed so much I hit the road and tore a gash in the blacktop lol.

Last night I came over a hill and the road again goes down with a slight bend and back up. Compressed the car and hit again, but just barely. And I kept booking it lol. Gotta love it. Just surprised with my spring rates and shocks turned up its hitting. But ah well!

those are my only experiences hitting anything in the road.. except a curb.. they jump out of nowhere sometimes lol
