Damn shifty! Ripping blacktop up would have to be your k member I would think. You might wanna get under her and give her a good checking!

And Scott I hear ya there brotha I'm all jacked up from my takes only one time experience.... tho yours is far worse than mine..

And MC I was thinking about that. How do adding cats lengthen your x pipe? When I first bought those from you I knew next to nothing about these cars haha but having a good general understanding makes me think... to add cats to mine I simply remove the piece of straight pipe and put the cat in its place. No different lengths between the two. O the joys of bassani x pipes. But did you have to hack up an o/r x and lengthen it with the cats? Just curious as before I never knew what you meant.

But im thinking of shortening my intermediate pipes and shifting the mufflers back closer to the middle of the car and re adding the chopped pipe behind the mufflers if you can envision what I'm saying here lol. The shortened distance should allow the mufflers to tuck up where normal Mustang mufflers go.... no?

i have long tube headers. my x pipe starts further back than yours.... your cats may even be pushed up near the bell housing... mine are under the transmission, then behind them is the x, then the mufflers.... :-/

I'll have to get you a picture of where mine are. IIRC they sit kinda right in the middle of the transmission and the X behind it. I know I had to shift the X back as far as I could to clear the poly trans mount. But yes LT's make total sense now lol... BUT I know they make catted LT x pipes! Or are they the same length as what you have?

Glad I'm not putting LT's on my car... I hate doing exhausts enough as it is lol

unless you're hunting for every available HP, just get equal length shorties... you'll never notice the difference except for working on the car will be 1000x easier. lol.

and they do make catted x pipes for LTs. its just they dont expect you to run a 14" long muffler with them too. lol.

There doing road work on the street my job is at .. both sides with a small median in the middle of the road. Guess who has to drive there stang there daily. Its not even fun at all. Going is fine, but leaving work over that hump in the middle of the road is hell. When the street is done its fine, but since its ripped up the hump sits higher and well my car doesn't like that. I might be taking a longer way home tomorrow and it sucks so bad because if i leave for LUNCH @ work i have to travel down those streets and median twice in one day..

Even if i take my time and go slow across the median i have a nice flow of traffic coming at me both ways when im trying to get over the hump slowly, so its either gas it at a part or face the assholes coming at you 30-40 mph both ways while your trying to get a lowered car over a tore up construction street.

Dont even get me started on the raised man hole covers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hit one of those fookers dead on center of car and almost have an heartattack.

It's a 16" muffler haha just bought it tonight. Couldn't resist that XR1 sound MC.. Had to go back again. And yeah I don't think I'm buying any headers lol they're just a PITA in general. And if I get to go turbo... Wellll obviously I won't need them :)

if you are talkin ease of maint then I am sure you mean unequal shorties right?

Maybe? That's a good question. I would think unequal would be easier because they don't look all tangled up.... But not as much HP as equal

OMG man!! **** that! That's exactly what I'm talking about tho dude, they leave that shit uncovered and then when we hit it they're like "well it was only this high....." I feel your pain there. We should petition that shit lol

Little update. Went to Summit and dropped $316 on a new muffler, tail pipe and necessary clamps to get it all put back together. SO it lives once again! We're gonna take that receipt and show it to them if we need to. So far haven't heard anything back yet....

Went with the lady out for a cruise and met up with my buddy and hit up the highway. Heard some straaaange noises. But nothing life threatening fortunately. Felt good to be back at it. Felt strong as ever, even went sideways a little to have some fun. Lady loves it when I go sideways and fast :)

Hope this company owns up man, I'm trying to avoid small claims court..

i had FRPP ceramic coated un-equal headers on my 2v. it was great. they'd cool off almost instantly.... lots of room... it was great.

But if you want performance, youre going to have to lose some engine bay room. equal-length is the route I would go on my next build.

Equal lengths are just as hard to install as LT's. Been there, done that and would do LT's if and when I do it on mine.

^He y Chris 6 more posts and you'll hit 2k :)

I want another Mustang already so I can build mine turbo because that's what I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeallly want. And then another one so I can build it N/A. Because who doesn't love a screaming monster under the hood? THEN I would definitely do LT's. Pair em up with a pro chamber and call it a day! Shorties were just never something I liked honestly. Always been a big big fan of the way the LT's look hanging off the motors, ever since I was a kid. Then when I started hearing them in youtube vids... O man I was sold lol

Unfortunatly with your car lowered I am afraid they will tell you to go kick, well that piece sticking up from the road I guess they will not care. Good luck with it but even with the cops report I think they will throw it back on you like its your fault because of the cars ride height.

You may be right Scott but I hope not. I've noticed a ton of people hitting it because the cone is always knocked over. So I pick it back up. BUT as of right now no one knows the ride height of my car..
