going over the options it will be rebuilt even if its salvaged. Got too much into it and still have too many plans. Almost finished polishing the intake and have the door enclosures already made, not to mention the louvers to consider switching years. Hopefully I can get the black candy paint added to the hood/roof the way I always wanted with out too much added expense.

Wondering about the laser shifters/radar sensor up front from the radar detector. Hopefully it will not be too bad too replace.

That ain't bad at all. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but all that is easily fixable. Once its fixed you'll never even know it was done.

Glad to hear you're okay man. If they total it hopefully it's enough money so you can get those airbags replaced at least. I have been in the insurance industry for a while especially outside dealing with body shops and thats a pretty decent job once you start factoring in airbag modules, impact sensors, any seatbelt pretensioners that have to be replaced, let alone all your cosmetic damage and hopefully no further damage behind from what you can even see. Best of luck to ya!

it will be brought back bigger/better. I will put my wheels on hold this summer and instead probably put the money towards getting the whole car painted after putting it back together.

Had another couple thoughts this morning making me realize it could have been worse. about months ago I noticed that my nice Revo/frameless sunglasses had developed a crack in the bridge area of the lense/mounting around the nose and was only a matter of time before it failed. I am sure that the airbag smacking them like I did my maui jims would have snapped it finally and then I can only imagine where the small shards of glass would have gone.

In addition to that I have been struggling with the corbeau seat mounting. When I first installed my air-ride I put the tank/valves behind the drivers seat and they fit perfectly and left 1/2" of space between the seat and the valves/tank with the stock seats. Then I got the corbeau's and the different shape/design put them back further to where it would hit the valves mounted right under the tank. I got 1" metal pipe-spacers and raised the back of the seat up an 1" which meant the seat now again missed everything with just enough space. The only problem I notices was that the small surface area of the spacers on the carpet no matter how tight I put them left some play in the back of the seat that I would feel move when I got in. Last week on Friday I ordered and picked up some pieces of 1" thick 6061 aluminum that had the same shape as the bottom of the corbeau's back mounts and drilled them out so that the seat would again be raised up, but the additional surface area made it just as solid as it was mounted straight to the floor. Not sure if something bad could have come from it but I would imagine that little bit of play might have allowed me to build some energy moving suddenly during the wreck and.....

You win:sad5:

What do we have for our lucky winners!? WWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAA that right folks we have a fully paid(paid by winner) trip on a tow-truck!!!!! You and your friends get to cram into the front bench seat of a 1992 GMC tow truck with no AC in July to go along to the body shop! There you will get to fill out more paperwork.. See what you want to take out of the car and then hope nothing gets stolen in its holding lot!(at least that is how my afternoon went).

That freaking sucks. Sorry to hear/see that. I hate cars for the reason you can put so much effort and hours into them, but you have to drive them among idiots that can take your car life in 1 second.

Yea I think that was my thinking when I set the $250 deductible. I just knew spending time improving it did little more then paint a great big target on it for the average wall-mart knuckle-dragger.....

Was thinking today that I have been wanting to take the drivers side fender off and to a wire tuck for a while now and this might be the time to take care of it. Anyone have a link to it or have any info on what wires need to be extended?
