front hub assembly install questions

was wondering whats all required in replacing the front hub assembly on my 96 gt.. my car has abs
the reason im changing is when i replaced front suspension today i bent the abs wheel piece which makes my car try to engage abs when im hitting the brakes causes a pulsing in the brake pedal and a noise..

Simple to do, just did mine this week. Here's the important thing, buy a 36MM socket. Don't try the job without it because there really is no way. I had to pay $20 for one socket but it was worth it.

How to:
-Remove wheel (duh)
-Using a Torx bit (T50) remove the lower bolt on the brake caliper
-DO NOT TOUCH THE TOP CALIPER BOLT which is inside the rubber boot, once you have the bottom bolt off you can rotate the caliper up and simply slide it off the top bolt
-Tie the caliper up so it isnt hanging off the brake line
-Remove the caliper bracket (two 15mm bolts)
-Remove brake disc
-Remove center dust cap
-Now you will see the 36MM bolt, it will look like a steel cage/retainer, that is the actual bolt. Factory torque is 250lbs so take your new 36MM socket (told you that it would be needed) and and impact wrench or huge breaker bar to remove (I used impact and it was off in 5 seconds)
-Pull off entire hub assembly
-Clean everything good. I then put a little synthetic bearing grease on the shaft and put it all back together

Too bad you aren't closer, I would just have you come here and I would do it for you. BTW - I bought a pair of brand new hubs exactly like you pictured off Ebay for $67 shipped. Like the setup better too because it has a solid ABS ring, not the hollow one like OEM which bends so easily.

thanks for the info and offer 2 help.. it was alot easier then i expected lol.. it was a breeze. also i wouldve got the part off ebay also being its cheaper just if i didnt change it today i probably wouldve never changed it lol.. it was $60 at napa so i forked over the $$$$ and got it done with... thanks again

Did you guys change the 1 time use nut and dust shield? Or reuse it?

No. I reused them.. never knew I had to change them since it didn't come with new ones with the new part..so far it has be fine so idk

I changed the nuts because NAPA had replacements cheap that looked better then the OEM ones
