fuel filter... questions

kK well im goin to do my fuel filter today or tomorrow.



any words of wisdom? i have a feeling that gas is gunna end up everywhere and im gunna get angry and throw rocks violently at babies. What should i do to prevent this?

Relieve your fuel pressure first. You can either, unscrew your gas cap (worked great for me) or you can shut-off your fuel pump and start your car.

You'll also need to pick-up the fuel line disconnect tool if you haven't already :thumb:

Your guys (5.0's) SN's may not need the disconnect tool :dunno:

The 98 has a different fuel system as well.

When i did mine, i set up a small fan so the fumes didnt get to me. You can go under the hood and push down the relief valve on the left side fuel rail and that will get rid of that excess pressure if there is any. Hope that helps. :thumb:

I just got a new filter for mine. One of the many over looked maintenance aspects.

Fuel filter should be change every year, depending on how much you drive the car.

I just tried to be quick. I did not have any problems.

yeah just be careful of the residual fuel in the lines, thats the mistake i made the first time i changed mine lol needless to say gas in the eyes aint the most pleasant feeling in the world
