i was just wondering what kind of highway gas mileage you guys get with 4.10 gears. i tryed to do some math on it comparing it to my 3.27s and i came up with a little over 19mpg. can anyone verify that number?
Mine really isn't effected that much? I dont really think they effect mpg that much. But I could be wrong though. I also read that too
yeah thats a lil under 15 mpg which isnt good at all. since mines a stick it might make mine a lil better i hope. its gonna be tough going from 24mpg to 15mpg
my 95 with 4.10's (not 100% sure since they were already in but about 98% sure) gets around 240 to a tank. I just got over 300 driving on interstate (75 mph) with the last 1/4 of the tank being used up in a lot of hotrodding around (110mph and just playing around). If you want good mpg you need to keep up on plugs, wires, fuel filters etc. It amazes me how shitty mpg some guys get. I seafoamed it, chevron fuel injector cleaner, new airfilter, fuel filter etc and i went from around 180-190 to 240. The better it runs the better mileage you get. keep up on the maintenance
I get 23-24 mpg with my 4.10's getting on it pretty often. I don't understand how u guys use so much gas.
Wow... My 95 gets like 20 Highway and like maybe 16-17 in town..... Then again I always get on it pretty hard. To be honest I had 3.55's in the rear and i did NOT even see that big of a difference. In my opinion, when you have 4.10's the last thing in your mind is your gas mileage. You will just be so damn happy when you step on it your worries go away... then again you could always go 4.30's like Snakebit....
I went from 23 mpg with 3.08 to 17 mpg with 4.10 and this is consistent...I track my gas mileage everyweek pretty much.. my drivin is split in half with city and highway so it could be more or less depending. if your worried about gas mileage get 3.73's or 3.55's if you wanna light em up easily and have a little more fun 4.10's and if your crazy get 4.30's jk snakebit
430's would probally be a little extreme on a daily driver GT :, but for a high winding 4 valve they are the way to go
if you're worried about gas mileage, drive a honda. i personally don't care about mileage as long as i'm having fun.
my sister has 4:10s in her 03GT and gets 16, i have stock gears and get 16-17... :'( aint that messed up, and her car is faster than mine.. :'( :'(
I have 4.10s and I get around 20mpg. People who are getting below that are just plain hot rodding it most of the time. As snake is right 4v's NEED 4.10s or 4.30's because everyone knows they lack alot on the bottom end. :
with my dohc, I went from 3.27s all the way up to 4.30s My mileage went from 22.5 mixed city/hwy to 20.5 mixed city/hwy.
How you like your 4:30's ? I did the SAME as you from the factory 27's all the way to the big boys :dancing6:
I went from 3.27's to 4.30's and get average 23-25 mpg on the highway. Around town its less, but I didnt buy this car for gas mileage so it doesnt bother me
