Gasket came apart?

I have a '99GT that has just had an issue with what looks like cork gasket material blow into the passenger side vents.

There is also now a rattle coming from behind the dash. Arrgh.
I found a PDF shop manual and it looks like I have to take the dash apart?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

the front is not hard to take off. Are there even any screws to remove on the double din factory bezels? I only dealt with the split 94/95 version and there are 3 screws to remove in it, after removing the radio and then it pulls off.

I really want to avoid damaging anything. This car only has 18K on it, it's like new.

on the 94/95 the screws were hidden. if you ran your fingers above the radio hole you could feel them, then when you removed the radio and looked in the hole there was a single phillips screw at the back where the plastic dash meets the metal bracing.
