I have already dont the P.I. swap bout a year ago. But everyone says u cant boost them. If u do it has to be low boost and a on point tune. I have a complete procharger kit for my car..What im asking is how much would i gain by doin some work to the old npi heads and putting some blower cams in it..and what kind of work do i need to do to get them stockies to flow and produce. I need some help cuz i used to b a 5.0 guy still trying to figure out how to make my 4.6 produce.

Personally I would keep the pi heads on there. Dont waste any money on the npi heads. You will be fine with the procharger with the pi heads just dont go crazy on the boost. You should see around 400 hp with the mods you have.

Be careful when Prochargers go bad, they take motors with them.

Hey 1Sic98gt, I was kinda asking the same thing in a post the other day. I do not have all the mods that you do, but I am curious to see if this is possible on our cars without touching the bottom.

Pi swapped car intercooled @ 8psi will get you 400whp.

I can't comment on ported npi's because ive never seen any flow numbers except renegade racings and I think they quit.

I read a thread where Nick@modularheadshop said he believes npi is better because you can get a better can spec in there because of the extra PTV the npi's have. Of coarse that's with port work, if the heads are staying stock PI all the way.

Best f/i combo in my opinion is mhs ported npi's with bullet cams. No matter what your best bet is talk to Nick@mhs and go with his recommendations.

Why is that?

Sounds like he is thinking of vortech not prochargers, since the prochargers are self contained so the oil never gets from engine to blower.

no, he mike is probably talking about the seals that prochargers are commonly known for failing. that or their overheating problems, which is why you wont find a procharger kit without an intercooler

i agree, you should be fine. I personally have a cousin that runs a procharger on his bullit, and another buddy who runs one on his new edge. I have about 3 other friends that run vortechs. My cousin has had bad luck with his procharger. Myself, and all vortech guys have never had a single problem. But you should be fine.
