yeah... I guess so, I've seen a 98 with the bbk 78mm tb & plenum, cai, and o/r x run mid 14's. So idk but I don't think the milage has anything to do with the et.

Well, don't try to make more power till you get the car to get more traction. I agree, with the right tires you can get in the 1.X 60 foot range somewhere and you will drop .2 for every .1 of 60ft reduction. A lot of guys concentrate on power and not on getting it to the ground. I'm not picking on you, so put the gun down Duff, lol. I'm just pointing out something simple you can do to increase your et's dramatically and harness any future power gains you make with the car. Hell, a friend of mine has a box stock 5.0 engine in his coupe, with shorty headers, off road H and a gear. He has gone a best of 12.7 shifting it like he stole it, but he has put all his money into the suspension first, getting it to hook and go. Yeah, it will bog sometimes, but he's played with the launch rpms and tire pressures to where now he's like clockwork, every pass right where the previous one was. I think your car could go into the 14's pretty far without any further hp mods. I would like to see you try it for sure. Just ask Duff and others that are running sn's and getting great 60' times what they have changed to their suspension. Good luck with it, and not bad for your first times with the car at the track.

he could go high 13s with just tires and a launch without a doubt, i thought it was more of a "how am i doing for what i'm using".

Just got back from the track for the first time in my 96 GT. The car has very little mods (3.73 gears, bbk intake, ford racing shorty headers) and is running on 4 Nitto NT555s. Was wondering if this was a good ET for this car. I am somewhat disappointed by not being sub-15s but its a point to work on I guess. Also what cheap bolt-ons would be recommended next to help drop it a little further?

The conditions for the run weren't ideal. It was about low 80s and humid. The car is a 5-speed with about 170k miles on it. I had just changed the oil that day, but I think that its time for a spark plug change. I picked the car up about 27,000 miles ago and I haven't changed them. I pulled them out to check and see what they were and were Bosch Platinum 2's. The air filter definitely needed to be cleaned. Hopefully these things will help the car out a bit.

I have heard that this car should be low 14-s? Is that an accurate statement?
I was addressing the questions in bold.

Wow I just realized this is you. I was at the track on the 17th and saw you run. You have a beautiful car. Not bad times. Just need to go a few times and get used to the track/car.

Thanks for the compliment on my car. Yeah I have been starting to doubt that there are actually 3.73s in the rear end. The mod was supposedly done by the previous owner, but am starting to wonder whether or not he lied to me about it.

I have stock gears with a xpipe and catback with a k&n drop in filter. I ran a 15 flat with a slightly slipping clutch and dinwiddie.

its pretty easy to check your gears, jack the rear end up on the car and put the trans in nuetral. Then just turn the wheel one turn and count the number of times the driveshaft turns over.

Not bad at all from what i've been reading on these cars. Seems like alot of people have more mods than yourself to even break into the 14's period.

I think you have some left in it with more practice and better weather.

The 96 in my sig ran them times my first pass ever with the car and 160k miles. PI intake only, and stock full exhaust.
