Hello,

Welcome :) !

It's a matter of $$$, I suggest that you replace the original gear by a 3.73, you can also install a cold air, and a new exhaust, H-pipe and new cat back, if you got a manual transmission a better shifter can help, you can do it step by step.

Money for the starter is no object, but other parts I wont be getting until next year, I have a new TV to pay off first. Im getting 3.73's probably in summer next year and new wheels and tires next spring(2003 Cobra styled). Do you know of a good starter though?

Unless your motor is built up which its not sounding like it is I dont see why an autozone starter wouldnt work. Thats where my last one came from.

I've bought a few on my car over the years now and the best ones I have seen have always been Ford OEM.

Never buy Autozone starters/water pumps/alternators unluss you like changing them. I have had bad luck with anything that can be rebuilt.
