So whenever I someone in my back seat or any weight I hear this grinding sound when I give the car some throttle. It doesnt do it that much when no one is in the back seat. It lso does it when I hit a bump. It sounds like it is coming from the drive shaft area.

Is your car lowered? If so i will say that is the problem right there, my car does the same thing and several other people i know that have lowered sn's have this problem along with people on this site. Its the e brake cable or bracket rubbing on the drive shaft it sucks.

True could be the H pipe as well. I have an x pipe and my e brake cable and bracket are getting pretty trashed. Crawl under you car and see where the drive shaft is all shiny.

its even worse when you have a wider larger aluminum driveshaft like myself. Basically all hell breaks loose under there :hammer:

Still can't find it. I looked at the drive shaft and there doesnt look like anything is rubbing on it. Could it be something in the rear?

The added weight of passengers or when you torque the car under hard accelration you alter the angles of the driveshaft which can cause interference problems if anything is close to it, ie. emergency brake cables, H or X pipe, or exhaust system. Upgrade your rear suspension.

AS I said, check the E-brake cable, that was my issue twice(that and my rear shock were completely useless!).

get the car on jack stands and check every bushing, check for any rubbing from the e-brake Bracket or the flowtubes hitting the axle.

What does the E-brake bracket/cable look like? Is it just a cable running the length of the car?

Just look for fresh metal scraps on your drive shaft and then look for the same above it - there will be your culprit.

Did that. Just had it on a lift. Drive shaft was rusty as hell the whole length.

So is there a solution to this problem? Do you have to reroute something?

I have a 94 5.0 and I've got the whole suspension package (Eibach Pro Kit with sway bars, shocks, springs, struts, MM upper and lower control arms, MM subframes) and an aluminum driveshaft. I recently started hearing this same problem when there is more weight in the car - i.e. another person or luggage. When it's just me and I hit a bump I really don't hear anything.

There is a 90% chance its your e-brake cable, Most mustangs of this year I have been in(including my own) have the e-brake on driveshaft issue due to crappy brackets holding the e-brake cable.

the only remedy to the ebrake bracket is to grind it down. I did this when i did my t56 swap and i just went at it with a grinder. problem solved.
