ok i bought a set of gt40p heads today for $100. thought it was a good deal. im gonna get some new valves and stuff for them and prolly gonna get them machined. more then likely gonna get exhaust ported. atleast gasket matched. im gonna run 1.7rr and my gt40 tubular intake. i have more bolts on already on car, cai, 70mm tb, tb spacer, ud pullies, full exhaust. car it dyno tuned on a mustang dyno as of now. it layed down somewhere around 235-240rwhp 312rwtq. so i was thinking after i get it together and re-tuned then i might be around 280-300hp and 320-340tq at the wheels. thats my guess. anyone else running same setup with numbers?

Ya its going to be a good set up for the money ....

I really dont think your going to get that much rear wheel hp though...

I going to run the Trickflow top end kit and was thinking around 300 rwhp after its tuned so who know .....

What happen to getting the aluminum heads?

Yeah don't expect to get that high of a HP jump. They do have smaller combustion chamber though. I would expect 260-280 rwhp.

there are a bunch of threads on this. From gt40 heads worked up like you are saying with a tfs 1 cam and 1.6/1.7 rockers, and intake manifold, rumor has it that you can run between 260 and 280 hp. Thats the set up I am planning on with the gt40 intake.

yeah. i was thinkin around 280. but who knows maybe more, maybe less. depends on the tune. the guy that tunes my car got 240rwhp out of my car and its pretty much stock just a few bolt ons. so that isnt to bad. i guess ill see once it all goes on the car and i get it to the dyno. im gonna take the heads to the machine shop sometime this week and get some bigger valves and a little port work done to the exhaust side of the heads. intake side is pretty well big enough id say. or should i get some port done to intake side and lower intake? and what size valves should i get put in? heres a pic of my setup im goin with.

gt40 tubular upper and lower, 1 inch intake spacer, 70mm throttle body adapter, powered by ford valve covers, and a set of gt40p heads
