gutting cats

how do you gut the cats? I want a little more sound and my dad doesn't want me wasting money on an aftermarket pipe, so this will have to do for now.

If you live in a state where you need to smog keeping that thing in good condition will be worth your time buying a off road and keeping that the stocker on the side. And it would not be wasting trust me lol. If not gutting them on the stocker is gonna be tough without cutting it up and welding it back together. I used a big ass crow bar to gut my friends.

save your time...and money and just buy a REAL pipe...the stock mid pipe is 2 1/4" pinch bent tubing. Even the cheapest h-pipes out now are mandrel and 2 1/2" and are MUCH better than even a gutted stocker.

ya keep your stocker and just buy a off road one. you can get them used for pretty cheap, then when its testing time swap them back. :thumb:

i just had my rear cats cut out, but left the pre cats in for inspection

I had my front 2 gutted and my back 2 just taken off completely! It did a lot for the sound!! I don't have the slightest clue as to how it was done though. I dropped it off in the morning and I got it soon after.

if you have no emissions then just "waste" your money and get a nice off road pipe, ebay that shite, i got my BBK h pipe brand new from some dude who didnt know what he had for $65 + shipping, so just look. And you will get a ncie sound and some HP

well, i found an x pipe locally and i think i'll get it. he believes it is a bbk x pipe and i think it will do nice for the sound. thanks for all the posts!
