Hey guys, man its been a few months since ive jumped on here. hows everyone doing? i need to get back in the routine of jumping up on here for hours a day haha.

anyways, onto the reason im creating this thread. tell me what everyone thinks about my next purchase.

i will be picking this up tomorrow afternoon for $3000. i think this is a pretty good deal. everything is not pictured the guy said but this is a complete kit, the only part i need is a different elbow that goes to the throttle body which he is going to include he said.

anyways, here is the listing. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/937906732.html

Reasonable offers accepted, for all of this kit, or either kit (supercharger kit, intercooler/aftercooler kit). Looking for $3150 or best offer.

This sells new for over $6200 from Vortech. I have included extra parts worth over several hundred dollars.

Vortech V2 SQ supercharger, complete kit. Fits a variety of applications. Original kit for 199 - 2001 Mustang cobra, but additional parts added so it will fit 1996 through 2004 Mustangs (Cobra, GT, V6). Will also work for Corvette, Nissan 350Z, Infinity, Lincoln (4.6L), Crown Vic, and others. Inquire for your specific application and I can confirm.

Show quality polished finished. Comes with everything including all fittings, bolts, injectors, flow matched MAF, some belts, extra pullies and idler pullies, chromed intake power pipe, etc. Supercharger has been rebuilt and comes with 1-year limited warranty. While the kit is gently used, I have many new parts that will come with it including a water pump (for after cooler), aftercooler water hose, some new silicone hose sleeve for intercooler plumbing, clamps, etc. Has many upgraded parts, replaced original Vortech rubber flex oil hoses with stainless steel braid hose. I made over 620rwhp with this kit in my setup with room to grow.

Very nice kit. I can sell as a complete kit, or will be willing to split into two kits - supercharger kit and intercooler/aftercooler kit. Comes with two manuals (one for each kit). I'm looking for $3190 or best offer for the whole kit, or make offers on either kit. Sells new from Vortech for $6200.

I'm also looking for the following items and am willing to work out a trade. Items I'm interested in:
- Autometer C2 Fuel Pressure gauge 7163
- Cobra block (bare)
- Cobra crank
- Colt AR-15
- Sig Sauer 45 cal
- Sig Sauer rifles

Let me know what you have.

Some pictures. More available upon request.

One showing the kit installed on Mustang engine. Comes with other fittings/parts to fit other applications. Aftercooler/intercooler mounts in the same location for Corvette, Lincoln, Crown Vic as well.

There are many more items included than pictured here. Brackets, heat exchanger, cold water tank, more plumbing and intake tubing, bolts, fasteners, air filter, MAF, manuals, stainless braid oil pressure and return hoses, supercharger belts, supercharger pullies (different sizes), idler pullies (extras), etc.

I don't know man - I just sold my custom 10-rb T-Trim kit for $3000. It had a fresh rebuild with zero miles, the race gearing inside, one-of-a-kind 10 rib crank pulley, two blower pulleys, monster tensioner, power pipe, inlet pipe, Greddy BOV, all brand new fasteners, two belts, all brand new powdercoated, and more. Three grand seems a tad high for a used S-trim kit IMHO. This is definitely a nice one, but I don't think he'll get $3K for it. That's my .02

Paul.

*edit*

Although with the aftercooler and everything, maybe it's not so bad...

Sorry I'm not help! :violent1:

hey Paul, well that does help me out.

Heres what the guy told me on the phone that isn't in the post. He told me half of the hardware and essentials (fasteners, bolts, silicone sleeves, etc.) are brand new. he switched to a different blower and didn't want to take everything off so he purchased a lot of new stuff to make the kit complete again.

The blower was an SC trim supercharger but he had it rebuilt less than 400 miles ago and i guess had it converted to an S trim at the same time. I looked up this kit and it said brand new 5700 dollars with no heat exchanger (im guessing he is running an aftercooler and a front mount intercooler? because he said the intercooler wasn't pictured)... i figured this was a pretty good deal for 3k. i wanted that turbo kit from hellion at graduation but 7k is a lot of money to drop and i figured roughly 600-650 horsepower would suit me just fine. hah

thanks for the reply. let me know if anything i just said makes any difference.

i'd be weary of 7 and 8 on that cobra motor. Plenty of folk have bullied those two pistons in the 96-98 cobras to a pulp

hey guys, thanks for the welcome back. looks like the site is doing well so maybe ill become a more active member again. i was getting frustrated with the site going down and such all the time. i haven't been apart of any forum since sn95 forums and 46stangs (i have like a 100 post count over there lol) so this is still my home.

my dad is calling the bank as we speak. i already offered the guy 3k for the whole kit. the forged motor will be going in this month as well as the supercharger i believe. my dad and i have decided we will be taking everything off the white cobra and putting it onto mine so that means the coilover setup, the tubular kmember, the rear suspension. this should all be done within the next month so i am super excited.

anyways, nice to be back and if any of you have any more input about my purchase, let me know ASAP cause im picking it up today at like 5. :headbang:

oh and yeah i saw that ad. my mm&ff subscription ended right before that issue so i had to run out and buy it. but i saw it.

no Paul i did not. My buddy that works for Stoked Out (a custom rod shop local here, hes painted a few cars for Boyd Coddington supposedly) was supposed to do it. He was going to re-fiberglass those edges, prep them, and spray them. I took them to him the weekend after I got them and they sat up at that shop for about 2.5 months so I got them back.

I plan on doing them this spring when the weather gets a bit nicer. I will be sure to get you pictures asap because I am excited as well. I think im also getting my exhaust custom bent over winter break too so I can get that out of the way.

Trey, good to have you back. Unfortunately, it seems that the server issues scared some people away from here, but it seems to be picking back up lately.

Congrats on the purchase! There's not a whole lot in this world that's better than a blown Cobra. It doesn't matter at this point, but just as an FYI, a Hellion kit for your car would've been about $5,500, not 7k.

Have fun with it!
