Had a code pop up yesterday

Alright you guys, my check engine light came on yesterday, I had autozone run the code and here's what it came back with. P0420 catalyst efficiency low bank 1. What exactly is this telling me? Bad CAT or bad o2 sensor? and is Bank 1 the passenger side of the vehicle? If it is the CAT i think I may be burning some oil and causong it to go bad. I just replaced the CAT on the passenger side a year and a half ago. Anyways some input would be great! Thanks guys

I would start off by checking the simplest stuff, check for exhaust leaks, check the o2 sensors, and then I would check the signal coming out of both the o2 sensors and compare them to specs.

when you had the code read did they tell you if it was sensor 1 or 2, also the info that 98v6er gave was spot on. i had the same problem on mine and it turned out that i had a small exhaust leak after installing an h-pipe to convert to true duels...welded the exhaust system up and no codes since
