my uncle has a gts viper, it's viper blue, he uses new buckets, sponges, cloths, and towels every time he washes it to keep from having swirls.

the clay bar is to get any road grime or contaminants of the paint...

its a step before you compound or polish

so yes, he compounded after he used the clay
