Hardwired Boost-a-pump... Any issue?

When i installed my BAP on my '98 GT, I bypassed the pressure switched and hardwired the BAP so it is on all the time.

My only concern is that in my tuner the duty cycle for the fuel pump is al 100% all the time.

Will the hardwired BAP burn up my fuel pump since the duty cycle is 100% all the time?

I have heard maybe people bypassing the switch with no issues.... But this was on 99-04 GT and 05-09 GTs.....

Any input?

I would personally use the switch to activate a relay for the BAP fed straight from the battery. I can't imagine in a returnless system that the pump running 100% all the time is a good thing.

Well, according to KB I wont have an issue. They say 05-09 mustang hardwire it no problem and i see lots of cars hardwiring.

KB i wont have an issue unless I am busting fuses and replacing them over and over. Still have no popped a fuse yet.

I am just concerned the BAP will limit the pump life running at 100% duty cycle.

I know this..... But this is with the Pressure Switch installed and not hardwired....

I wanna know if hardwiring will effect the pump life....

You should be fine, but to be honest I don't think you even need the BAP. I made 528 to the wheels with my BAP turned off, and I'm only using a 255lph pump and 60# injectors.

I suggest putting the pressure switch back in and going that way. Even if it makes no difference, it should provide you peace of mind. And that my friend, is worth the work and time it takes to redo it.

I don't personally trust a $5 hobbs switch,is rather it hardwired,that's how I have mine.can't comment on longevitu bc ihavent driven my car

After talking to kenne bell and being overly paranoid, I just installed the HOBBS Switch.

Car still runs perfect..... Running the wire to the engine bay was a PITA
