head numbers

i was talking to someone about buying an engine. when he bought it he was told it was a gt40 or gt40p set up. i havent seen it personally but i had someone look at it and he said the heads dont have bars on the sides. he did say that one head has 23t and the other has 24t stamped in it. what are these things? he didnt see gt or gtp stamped in them either.

GT40 has 3 bars and "GT" on them.

GT40P has GTP.

If the heads don't have either of those, then they are not iron GT40/GT40P heads.

i know how to identify the gt40. we are wondering what these are though.

i talked to him today and he said one side of the head said 23 and the other said t. on the other head it said 24 on one side and t on the other. it was the same place they say gt or gtp on the gt40/ gt40p heads. he dont remember seeing anything else. no telling what it is.
i took the intake manifold off my old 351 to see if i seen anything on the heads. i cant remember the numbers on the corner but i know it has a plate riveted by the valve springs that say 1k27. i will look at them more tommorow.

I looked around in a few different books I have and actually called my machinest and when I told him 23T and 24T he was lost.

He said there has to be more on the heads than just 23T or 24T etc.

look on the drivers side on the head close to the fire wall above the #8 plug (the last plug on that side) and if it a gt40p head it will be stamped gt40p going diagnal Im not sure about the gt40 but my gt40ps are stamped in that area and also under the valve cover
